DEWALT® Launches New 20 Volt MAX* Lithium Ion Work Light with Features for Hands-Free Use and Clear, Bright Visibility
TOWSON, Md. (June 2, 2011) – Today, DEWALT announces the launch of its new 20 Volt MAX* Lithium Ion LED Work Light (DCL040), which features added lumens for brighter visibility than current work lights on the market, a pivoting head, multiple light zones and hands-free capability for versatility on the jobsite. The LED bulb also creates less heat than conventional Xenon bulbs.
“We spent time on the jobsite with contractors to better understand how they work in small spaces with poor lighting, which gave us a first-hand look at the difficulties users face when handling and positioning work lights to allow for hand-free usage and multitasking,” said Jim Watson, senior product manager, DEWALT. “In addition to engineering the new 20 Volt MAX* Lithium Ion Work Light to include LED technology, resulting in a clear and bright light, we incorporated features such as a pivoting head and hang hook to solve end user frustrations with light positioning.
The pivoting head rotates 120 degrees with 11 detent positions for a wide range of visibility and the ability to easily lock-in the light projection angle. The integrated hang hook allows for hands-free capability in that it can be hung in spaces where added visibility is required.
With 110 Lumens that deliver bright white LED light output to easily differentiate between colors and help reduce shadows, the DEWALT 20 Volt MAX* Lithium Ion Work Light is an obvious choice for contractors. The new work light provides up to 11 hours of light output when paired with the 3.0 Amp Hour (Ah) 20 Volt MAX* Lithium Ion battery.
DEWALT-designed electronics are built into the switches of all 20 Volt MAX* Lithium Ion tools and lights. These electronics provide maximum life for the tools and batteries by helping to protect them from overheating, overloading and deep discharge during use. In addition, the charger for each of the items in the line has dual voltage capabilities and is compatible with 12 Volt MAX* and 20 Volt MAX* DEWALT Lithium Ion batteries.
The new 20 Volt MAX* Lithium Ion Work Light will be available in September 2011 anywhere DEWALT products are sold, and it is expected to retail for $49.00. It will be sold bare and is compatible with both the 20 Volt MAX* 1.5 Ah and 3.0 Ah Lithium Ion batteries. The light will be offered in a variety of combo kit options.
